Empty

Does anybody else feel like we've kind of abandoned this blog?

True: half of our friends are on missions or otherwise out of the country. And those of us who are left are - I would imagine - occupied with other trivial things like jobs, our education, and (could it be?) having a non-virtual social life.  We're all adults now, living busy adult lives. A blog like this obviously has to take the backseat to a lot of other things.

High school feels further away than ever. It's weird to even think about what life was like back when we created this blog. We used to see each other almost every day. And we thought nothing of it! We went to school, hung out between classes, played Ultimate Frisbee at lunch, got together for Night Games on Fridays, etc. We had good times! And even though we don't see each other all the time anymore, we're all still friends, wherever we are. I'm grateful for that.

And I know that we've moved on. It's a part of life. We're sweating it through college classes, working full-time jobs, paying rent, becoming engaged. Maybe we don't need this silly old blog that we made back when we were in high school. Maybe it's time to let it go.

But you know . . . I miss it. I miss knowing what was going on with you guys, hearing about concerts and upcoming trips and even just fun dates you've been on recently. I liked our little conversations through comments, like when we were giving Allyssa ideas on what to do before she turned 20. I love the way we've been able to stay connected through the internet, and in a less-fleeting way than just reading each other's Facebook status updates. I don't remember whose idea this whole Senior Blog thing was, but I've really enjoyed it.

So if this is the end, I just wanted to say it's been worth the effort. But if there's anyone else out there who sort of misses the simpleness of high school, and who likes the way this blog keeps us all connected even now that high school is two years over, then maybe it doesn't have to end. Maybe we can keep posting with little updates on what's been going on, laughing and enjoying each other's stories, just like we used to. It doesn't have to be a big deal - it never was one. Simple friendship, that's all it is.

Ah, well. This empty room echoes a bit, and the soapbox I'm standing on is starting to fall apart. I'll see you guys later.

Oh, you almost made me tear up *sniff*

I was thinking the same thing. Except I didn't want to post again because before this, I was the last one to post.

I went to graduation the other day and had a myriad of flashbacks of high school. I loved all the friends and the socialness, and like you said, being able to see each other every day.

Also, I haven't been on any dates recently.
