I think this blog has inspired the beginning of many new personal blogs. I hardly knew what a blog was before I saw the Springville Seniors 2009 blog. It's great fun to read about the thoughts of our friends and how they are. Without this blog, and with many of us going to college at different places, leaving for missions, work, and whatever else, I think I would be forced to forget about nearly all of you, my good friends. We can't see each other often or easily, and it's extremely difficult to contact everyone individually by phone or text. This blog has the potential of provoking casual and friendly conversation.
Isn't the purpose of this blog to keep in touch, as well as inform people about events? Most of us would like to see more posts on this blog. Personally, I would like to commend the efforts of those who encourage more participation. Perhaps many of us, as well as I, have the misconception that if it isn't substantially important, it doesn't belong on this blog.
I would like to propose a method of bringing the Springville Seniors 2009 blog back to life. Please tell me if you disagree. It will only work if most everyone wants it to.
Many people have made their own personal blogs. I think that, while personal blogs are a great idea, they have stemmed from the thought that this "mother blog" is too big, to widely veiwed, and too formal for personal experiences and thoughts. I don't ask people to abandon their own blogs entirely, especially since we would like some of the thoughts we share to be more private. I will refer to my own blog. Rain Dance, my personal blog, is open for anyone to read. It is where I share my experiences and thoughts, as well as anything else I've found entertaining. I've shared songs, pictures I've drawn, thoughts and experiences there. All of them are very casual and informal. Most of them are also very short. I am sure that many people would think reading this kind of stuff a "waste of time." Still, I think that these are the kind of posts I would like to see happen on this blog. If your personal blog is at least somewhat similar to mine, I think that most of your posts are more than appropriate for the Springville Seniors 2009 blog, as it is for staying in touch and, I guess, casually "socializing" with each other.
You may disagree, but I would like to see everyone post to this blog, rather than exclusively to their own. I sure would like to read everyone's personal blogs, but I'm afraid that I am often short on time to search each one, many of which have had nothing knew for months. I don't even know who all has a blog. I ask that we support what I believe was the original purpose of this blog, and try to post more substantially to this one that to our own. If we are all friends, and we want to share with each other, then we ought to share together.
I hope that I have expressed the purpose of this blog. And I hope I am not the only one who wants to stay in touch with everyone who is part of this blog and who I attended High School with. I don't want to discourage your own blogs, but, from what I have seen in our friends blogs, I am sure that everyone would like to see collectively on this blog.
I ask that everyone tries to post something, I don't care what, whenever they can. Even if it's only a couple sentences. In fact, those short posts are great! Otherwise, I think we're going to eventually stop communicating altogether, and slowly forget each other.
Sorry this is so long, but I think it is important. In fact, this picture came to mind from my American Heritage class:
We're all to busy to post regularly to our own blogs, and so we each can only get a few in each month. Collectively, however, I'll bet we could get several each day!
If everyone is okay with this proposal, and would like to see MANY posts from everyone, I will be one of the first to post on this blog rather than to my own personal blog.

Great thought, Denver! And it's not too long! Blog posts can never be too long...usually ;)
