Hi everyone!

I wanted to share with you a blessing that I've received, actually a while ago, about Gazebo Singing. In it, I was told that I should continue to go singing when possible, for it was a strength to me spiritually. I remember how much I enjoyed singing and inviting the Spirit to be with us as friends. Realizing that it has now been postponed, I've wanted to find a replacement for it. This because I know that we can all benefit from sharing our thoughts and testimonies with each other.
Here is my idea:

The acronym above stands for Find, Explain, Answer, Share, and Testify. Those who were in Brother Laing's early morning seminary class their sophomore year know what this is (forgive me, I'm not terribly sure about the 'a'.)

For the rest of you, this was an opening to our lesson every day, after our song and prayer. It was a time set apart (I think about ten minutes) for everyone to read his or her scriptures personally, in quiet. Then, the 'podium was open' for all who felt they would like to share a spiritual thought or impression that came to them while reading, or maybe from a previous study time.

I think that we could do something like this at my home, around 8:00-8:15 for about 45 minutes. We would begin, as in our class, with a song and prayer, then allow the allotted amount of time to pass (we can change it according to everyone's needs.) As you feel inspired, those who have something may either sit or stand to share it. Then others could comment, and we could have a discussion, if prompted by the Spirit. Other times, you could just share, then the next person would share, etc.

For me, personally, sometimes the best lessons I learn, and the greatest counsel I can get comes from thoughts shared by other teenagers trying their hardest to live the Gospel. We can relate to problems and situations because we've been and are going through them, and you never know when your thought may touch the heart of a person, or help someone that day/week.
